Chandigarh: 14 sports department employees found absent during surprise checking

Chandigarh director of sports Sorabh Arora carried out a surprise check at the sports department office in Sector 42 on Monday and found that 14 of the total 40 employees had not turned up by the reporting time of 9.30 am

Punjab reported 30% dip in farm fires, Haryana 47%: CAQM data

The total number of paddy crop residue burning events during September 15 and October 30 period in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and NCR districts of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan have come down to 53,792 this year, a reduction of over 31%, compared to the corresponding period in 2021, according to data shared by authorities on Monday

Dispute over common loo led to Baltana woman’s murder: Cops

Cracking the case within 10 days, police on Sunday arrested two brothers, residing in the neighbourhood of the victim, from their native Dumri in Bihar’s Motihari district.

‘Be serious about it’: Supreme Court pulls up Punjab govt over drug menace

“Your government has to take extra caution. If somebody wants to finish the country, more particularly being a border state… It is easy to finish the youth by giving drugs. Be serious about it,” a bench of justices MR Shah and CT Ravikumar said.
