Fake FB account of Jharkhand DGP created, case lodged

A fake Facebook account of Jharkhand director general of police (DGP) Neeraj Sinha was detected on Tuesday, police said, adding that a case was lodged at Ranchi’s Dhurwa police station in this regard and investigation has been initiated to track down the cyber frauds behind the move

Jharkhand's daily Covid deaths drop below 100 for 2nd time in May; toll at 4,182

The death toll in the state has climbed to 4,182, as per a Health Department bulletin. The state had recorded 97 fatalities on May 10 also. To date this month, the highest number of 159 deaths was recorded on May 2.

Jharkhand extends lockdown till May 27, tightens curbs

Chief minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday sought report from West Singhbhum deputy commissioner within 24 hours after women and child welfare minister Joba Majhi drew his attention towards fast spreading Covid-19 infection in rural areas of the state.

Since April 29, the state is under lock and key, with only essential services allowed to operate from 7am to 2pm. These restrictions are currently in place till 6am on May 13.
