Afeemi: Ayushmann, Parineeti intoxicated with love in new song from Meri Pyaari Bindu
Titled Afeemi, the new song from Meri Pyaari Bindu, starring Ayushmann Khurana and Parineeti Chopra, talks of the intoxicating and heady feeling of love between the two. This is one hangover, of heady intense love, which no one wants to get rid of.
Bollywood actors Ayushmann Khuranna and Parineeti Chopra shared the latest song from their upcoming film, Meri Pyaari Bindu, late on Monday and it is ruling the internet.
Titled Afeemi, the song talks of the intoxicating and heady feeling of love. This is one hangover, of heady intense love, which no one wants to get rid of.
Composed by Sachin-Jigar, Afeemi is sung by Jigar Saraiya and Sana Moidutty. Kausar Munir has composed the lyrics.
The film is about Abhimanyu (Ayushmann) and Bindu (Parineeti) who are trying to establish themselves professionally. Even as Bindu focuses on her dream of becoming a singer, Abhimanyu falls in love with her. Afeemi captures that extra special feeling of doing small things together, of sharing little moments everyday like a walk on Marine drive, or dancing in the rain, or lazing around in bed on a weekend.
Talking about the song, director Akshay Roy said in a press statement, “In Afeemi, Abhi and Bindu find love amidst the simpler pleasures of life. Coming to Mumbai with a bunch of friends, years ago, trying to make something of our lives in this bustling city, for us it was always about those smaller joys – our first apartments, coffee shops, Carter road, long chats into the night about our ‘auditions’ of the day. In Afeemi, I’ve tried to show Abhi and Bindu’s journey through that ‘outsider’ lens. It’s something that I’m sure will be relatable for many.”
Meri Pyaari Bindu is produced by Yash Raj films and directed by Akshay Roy. It is slated to hit theatres on May 12.
