Five people, including a pregnant woman, sustained minor injuries when a crowd of people jostled and pushed one another while trying to meet Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath at his Janta Darbar at the Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur on Sunday.

The incident occurred early in the morning when barricades put up for crowd management by police were removed suddenly and people jostled with each other to reach the chief minister to hand over their complaint letters.

According to sources, Adityanath had instructed officials to ensure that people coming to meet him did not face any hassles and hence the barricades were removed.

Later, the barricades were put up again to control the crowd. The temple administration took the complaint letters from the injured people and assured them of delivering to the chief minister.

Meanwhile, separate sitting arrangements were made for complainants. People in a group 10-20 were allowed to enter the temple office and meet Adityanath.
