KPCC member Kavitha Reddy posted a video on Twitter of a waterlogged road with potholes in HSR Layout.

Kavitha Reddy, general secretary in-charge for the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) in Harapanahalli Harihara, on Monday slammed Bommanahalli MLA M Satish Reddy and Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya for the poor condition of roads in the area.

“No road, only votes,” KPCC member Dr Kavitha Reddy said in a Twitter post. (Image source: Screengrab of Twitter video/@KavithaReddyKR)

Reddy took to Twitter to post a video of the main road of HSR Layout. The waterlogged road has multiple potholes, while bikers and vehicles can be seen making a way around them to cross the road.

In the 2-minute-long video, Reddy can be seen walking the length of the road while claiming that authorities have not taken any steps for its maintenance.

"No Road only Votes is BJP MLA @msrbommanahalli agenda, infamous Sanjeevani Medical Rd that connects over 40k Residents are forever stuck in Traffic! FYI @Tejasvi_Surya unfortunately these ppl voted for u also! #40PercentConmission #BommanahalliDairies #BJPMLAFailsBommanahalli," she wrote on Twitter.

Reddy said the Sanjeevani Medical road has been in the same condition for around 14 years now, and questioned, “If an MLA could not get a 300-metre-long stretch repaired in 14 years, we need to question what kind of progress is in store for us.”

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), the local administrative body of Bengaluru, identified around 10,000 potholes across the city in May and undertook many repair works. However, Bengaluru's infrastructure has taken a severe beating after the incessant rain this monsoon season.

This has caused the BBMP to come under the heat from residents and the high court on several occasions, with potholes causing several accidents.
