Ahead of GIS-2023, U.P. govt to hold roadshows at eight divisional HQs

The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to hold roadshows at eight divisional headquarters to attract investment ahead of Global Investors’ Summit (GIS)-2023 and achieve the objective of making the state a trillion-dollar economy. The GIS-2023 is scheduled to be held in Lucknow from February 10 to 12.

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath, who had sent eight teams abroad to hold international roadshows and led the state’s team in Mumbai to mark the beginning of domestic roadshows in country’s eight major cities, has now given directives for holding the roadshows at eight divisional headquarters as well. The Mumbai roadshow attracted investment of ₹5 lakh crore.

Industrial development minister Nand Gopal Gupta ‘Nandi’ will be the chief guest at the divisional roadshows to be organised from January 15 onwards. Various districts are also holding district-level roadshows.

The UP State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) will organise the divisional-level roadshows. The UPSIDA has achieved the investment target of more than ₹1 lakh crore.

All the major industrial groups have signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with the authority for investment. As per chief executive officer, UPSIDA, Mayur Maheshwari, UPSIDA’s industrial areas have a land bank of more than 15,000 acre. He said the MoUs with various institutions involving an investment of ₹1,00,000 crore had been signed so far.
