In the Gujarat Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Dholka constituency had 13 candidates for assembly seat contention. Dholka was one of 99 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was an extremely close fight, with Bharatiya Janata Party's Bhupendrasinh Manubha Chudasama winning the election defeating Indian National Congress's Rathod Ashvinbhai Kamsubhai by a narrow margin of 327 votes.
90.1% of votes were split between top 2 candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Bhupendrasinh Manubha Chudasama secured a total of 71,530 votes, while Indian National Congress's Rathod Ashvinbhai Kamsubhai got 71,203 votes. Independent candidate Shaktisinh Sardarsinh Sisodiya grabbed 4,222 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 45.1%, 44.9% and 2.7% respectively.
In Gujarat Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Chudasama Bhupendrasinh Manubha outperformed Indian National Congress's Chavda Pradyumansinh Pratapbhai by 18,845 votes.
