Chhattisgarh Election 2022: Becharaji Assembly Seat

In the 2017 Gujarat Legislative Assembly Election, there were 14 candidates in the fray from Becharaji constituency. Becharaji was one of 77 seats won by the Indian National Congress. Indian National Congress's Thakor Bharatji Sonaji won the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Patel Rajnikant Somabhai by a margin of 15,811 votes.

The top two candidates split 90.7% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Thakor Bharatji Sonaji got a total of 80,894 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Patel Rajnikant Somabhai secured 65,083 votes. Independent candidate Patel Kiritkumar Dahyabhai secured 10,144 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 50.2%, 40.4% and 6.3% respectively.
