Chhattisgarh Election 2022: Tharad Assembly Seat

In the 2017 Gujarat Legislative Assembly Election, there were 7 candidates in the fray from Tharad constituency. Tharad was one of 99 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Patel Parbatbhai Savabhai won the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Rajput Damraji Devjibhai by a margin of 11,733 votes.

The top three candidates split 96.3% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Patel Parbatbhai Savabhai secured a total of 69,789 votes, while Indian National Congress's Rajput Damraji Devjibhai got 58,056 votes. Independent candidate Patel Mavjibhai Chatrabhai bagged 42,982 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 39.3%, 32.7% and 24.2% respectively.
