Basavanagudi is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Bangalore district. People of Basavanagudi voted for Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.

The top two candidates split 89.0% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Ravisubramanya.L.A got a total of 76,018 votes, while Janata Dal (Secular)'s K.Bagegowda secured 38,009 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate M.Boregowda secured 11,767 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 59.3%, 29.7% and 9.2% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Bharatiya Janata Party's Ravi Subramanya.L.A. defeated Janata Dal (Secular)'s K.Bagegowda by 19,720 votes.
