Challakere comes under the Chitradurga district and it is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies. People of Challakere voted for Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.
Challakere assembly constituency had 2,06,471 electors in 2018, out of which 1,04,045 were male voters and 1,02,423 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.8% votes.

Indian National Congress's T Raghumurthy won the election upstaging Janata Dal (Secular)'s Raveesh Kumar by a margin of 13,539 votes.
The top three candidates split 99.0% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's T Raghumurthy got a total of 72,874 votes, while Janata Dal (Secular)'s Raveesh Kumar secured 59,335 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate K T Kumaraswamy grabbed the third spot with 33,471 votes. The top three parties got 43.6%, 35.5% and 20.0% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Indian National Congress's T Raghumurthy beat Karnataka Jantha Paksha's K T Kumaraswamy by 23,123 votes.
