Bharatiya Janata Party's Dattatraya C Patil Revoor Appu Gouda got a total of 64,788 votes, while Indian National Congress's Allamprabhu Patil secured 59,357 votes. Janata Dal (Secular)'s candidate Basavaraj Diggavi secured 14,359 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 45.2%, 41.4% and 10.0% respectively.
