Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate Dayasagar Bapuraya Patil grabbed the third spot with 38,941 votes. The top three parties got 30.2%, 24.2% and 23.3% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Indian National Congress's Yashavantarayagouda Vittalagouda Patil defeated Karnataka Jantha Paksha's Ravikant Shankreppa Patil by 33,302 votes.
