In Karnataka Assembly Election 2018, there were 2,08,480 registered voters for Nippani assembly seat, out of which 1,06,134 were male and 1,02,342 were female voters. 0.7% of voters opted for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.
In the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election 2018, Nippani constituency had 10 candidates for assembly seat contention. Nippani was one of 104 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Jolle Shashikala Annasaheb winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Kakaso Pandurang Patil by a margin of just 8,506 votes.
The top two candidates split 96.9% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Jolle Shashikala Annasaheb got a total of 87,006 votes, while Indian National Congress's Kakaso Pandurang Patil secured 78,500 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Kamat Ramesh Ishwar secured 2,476 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 50.9%, 46.0% and 1.4% respectively.
In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Bharatiya Janata Party's Jolle Shashikala Annasaheb defeated Indian National Congress's Kakaso Pandurang Patil by 18,662 votes.
