Karnataka Election: Pavagada Assembly Constituency 2023

Pavagada is the assembly constituency which comes under the Tumkur district. It is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies. Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 for Pavagada will be held on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.

In 2018, the Pavagada assembly seat had 1,94,653 registered voters, 99,871 were male and 94,778 were female voters. 0.4% of voters opted for the None of the Above (NOTA) option.

What happened last time

In the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election 2018, Pavagada constituency had 13 candidates for assembly seat contention. Pavagada was one of 80 seats won by the Indian National Congress. It was an extremely close fight, with Indian National Congress's Venkataramanappa winning the election defeating Janata Dal (Secular)'s K M Thimmarayappa by a narrow margin of 409 votes.

The top two candidates split 89.8% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Venkataramanappa got a total of 72,974 votes, while Janata Dal (Secular)'s K M Thimmarayappa secured 72,565 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate G.V.Balaram secured 14,074 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 45.0%, 44.8% and 8.7% respectively.

In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Janata Dal (Secular)'s K.M.Thimmarayappa beat Indian National Congress's H.V.Venkatesh by 4,863 votes.
