In the 2018 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election, there were 9 candidates in the fray from Sindgi constituency. Sindgi was one of 37 seats won by the Janata Dal (Secular). Janata Dal (Secular)'s Managuli Mallappa Channaveerappa won the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Bhusanur Ramesh Balappa by a margin of 9,305 votes.

The top three candidates split 97.5% of votes between them. Janata Dal (Secular)'s Managuli Mallappa Channaveerappa got a total of 70,865 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Bhusanur Ramesh Balappa secured 61,560 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Sali Mallanna Ningappa grabbed the third spot with 22,818 votes. The top three parties got 44.5%, 38.7% and 14.3% respectively.
