Karnataka Election: Sira Assembly Constituency 2023

Sira is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Tumkur district. Karnataka Assembly Election 2023 for Sira will be held on May 10 and the result was declared on May 13.

Sira assembly constituency had 2,10,109 electors in 2018, out of which 1,07,960 were male voters and 1,02,138 females. The None of the Above (NOTA) option got 0.3% votes.

What happened last time

In the 2018 Karnataka Legislative Assembly Election, there were 15 candidates in the fray from Sira constituency. Sira was one of 37 seats won by the Janata Dal (Secular). Janata Dal (Secular)'s B Sathyanarayana won the election upstaging Indian National Congress's T B Jayachandra by a margin of 10,365 votes.

The top two candidates split 77.0% of votes between them. Janata Dal (Secular)'s B Sathyanarayana got a total of 74,338 votes, while Indian National Congress's T B Jayachandra secured 63,973 votes. Bharatiya Janata Party's candidate S R Gowda secured 16,959 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 41.4%, 35.6% and 9.4% respectively.

In Karnataka Assembly election 2013, Indian National Congress's T B Jayachandra outperformed Janata Dal (Secular)'s B.Sathyanarayana by 14,681 votes.
