In 2017, 5 candidates were contesting for Vansda assembly constituency seat. Vansda was one of 77 seats won by the Indian National Congress. Indian National Congress's Anantkumar Hasmukhbhai Patel won the election by defeating Bharatiya Janata Party's Mahla Ganpatbhai Ulukbhai by a margin of 18,393 votes.
97.5% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Indian National Congress's Anantkumar Hasmukhbhai Patel got a total of 1,10,756 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Mahla Ganpatbhai Ulukbhai got 92,363 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Shankar Manakbhai Jatrubhai grabbed 2,183 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 53.2%, 44.3% and 1.0% respectively.
In Gujarat Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Chaudhari Chhanabhai Kolubhai outperformed Bharatiya Janata Party's Patel Nareshbhai Maganbhai by 25,616 votes.
