In the Gujarat Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Deesa constituency had 9 candidates for assembly seat contention. Deesa was one of 99 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Bharatiya Janata Party's Pandya Shashikant Mahobatram won the election by upstaging Indian National Congress's Govabhai Hamirabhai Rabari by a margin of 14,531 votes.
The top two candidates split 88.7% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Pandya Shashikant Mahobatram got a total of 85,411 votes, while Indian National Congress's Govabhai Hamirabhai Rabari secured 70,880 votes. In Gujarat Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Vaghela Liladharbhai Khodaji outperformed Indian National Congress's Joshi Rajendrakumar Dhudalal(RAJUBHAI JOSHI) by 17,706 votes.
