Rajasthan Election 2022: Surat West Assembly Seat

In the Gujarat Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Surat West constituency had 14 candidates for assembly seat contention. Total 99 seats were won by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Surat West was one of them. The election for Surat West seat was comfortably won by Bharatiya Janata Party's Purnesh Modi defeating Indian National Congress's Patel Iqbal Daud by a huge margin of 77,882 votes.

The top two candidates split 98.0% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Purnesh Modi got a total of 1,11,615 votes, while Indian National Congress's Patel Iqbal Daud secured 33,733 votes. Independent candidate Rochani Sonal Chetanbhai secured 461 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 75.3%, 22.7% and 0.3% respectively.
