In the 2017 Gujarat Legislative Assembly Election, there were 5 candidates in the fray from Mangrol constituency. Mangrol was one of 77 seats won by the Indian National Congress. Indian National Congress's Vaja Babubhai Kalabhai won the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Kargatiya Bhagvanjibhai Lakhabhai by a margin of 13,914 votes.
The top two candidates split 97.1% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Vaja Babubhai Kalabhai got a total of 71,654 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Kargatiya Bhagvanjibhai Lakhabhai secured 57,740 votes. Independent candidate Chandegara Sanjaykumar Kantibhai secured 1,938 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 53.8%, 43.3% and 1.5% respectively.
In Gujarat Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Chudasama Rajeshbhai Naranbhai beat Indian National Congress's Dr. Chudasama Chandrikaben Kanjibhai by 15,714 votes.
