In the 2017 Gujarat Legislative Assembly Election, there were 6 candidates in the fray from Nizar constituency. Nizar was one of 77 seats won by the Indian National Congress. Indian National Congress's Sunilbhai Ratanjibhai Gamit won the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Kantilalbhai Reshmabhai Gamit by a margin of 23,129 votes.
The top two candidates split 94.0% of votes between them.
