In the Gujarat Legislative Assembly Election 2017, Kutiyana constituency had 12 candidates for assembly seat contention. Total 1 seats were won by the Nationalist Congress Party, Kutiyana was one of them. The election for Kutiyana seat was comfortably won by Nationalist Congress Party's Jadeja Kandhalbhai Sarmanbhai defeating Bharatiya Janata Party's Odedra Lakhamanbhai Bhimabhai by a huge margin of 23,709 votes.
93.3% of the total votes were casted to top three candidates. Nationalist Congress Party's Jadeja Kandhalbhai Sarmanbhai grabbed a total of 59,406 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Odedra Lakhamanbhai Bhimabhai got 35,697 votes. Indian National Congress's candidate Modedra Vejabhai Lilabhai bagged 11,670 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties registered 51.9%, 31.2% and 10.2% respectively.
In Gujarat Assembly election 2012, Nationalist Congress Party's Kandhal Sarmanbhai Jadeja outperformed Bharatiya Janata Party's Karshanbhai Dulabhai Odedra by 18,474 votes.
