In 2017, 7 candidates were contesting for Jetpur assembly constituency seat. Jetpur was one of 77 seats won by the Indian National Congress. It was a close contest with Indian National Congress's Rathva Sukhrambhai Hariyabhai winning the election upstaging Bharatiya Janata Party's Rathva Jayantibhai Savajibhai by a margin of just 3,052 votes.
The top two candidates split 86.3% of votes between them. Indian National Congress's Rathva Sukhrambhai Hariyabhai got a total of 77,701 votes, while Bharatiya Janata Party's Rathva Jayantibhai Savajibhai secured 74,649 votes. Independent candidate Rathva Surajben Bhagvatsinh secured 3,314 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 44.0%, 42.3% and 1.9% respectively.
In Gujarat Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Rathava Jayantibhai Savajibhai defeated Indian National Congress's Rathava Sukhrambhai Hariyabhai by 4,273 votes.
