In 2017, 8 candidates were contesting for Kadi assembly constituency seat. Kadi was one of 99 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Karshanbhai Punjabhai Solanki winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Chavda Rameshbhai Maganbhai by a margin of just 7,746 votes.
The top two candidates split 97.8% of votes between them. Bharatiya Janata Party's Karshanbhai Punjabhai Solanki got a total of 96,651 votes, while Indian National Congress's Chavda Rameshbhai Maganbhai secured 88,905 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Parmar Aaratiben Ashvinkumar secured 1,055 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties got 50.9%, 46.9% and 0.6% respectively.
In Gujarat Assembly election 2012, Indian National Congress's Chavada Rameshbhai Maganbhai outperformed Bharatiya Janata Party's Hitu Kanodiya by 1,217 votes.
