Telangana Election: Rajkot Rural Assembly Constituency 2022
In the 2017 Gujarat Legislative Assembly Election, there were 14 candidates in the fray from Rajkot Rural constituency. Rajkot Rural was one of 99 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a close contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Lakhabhai Sagathiya winning the election upstaging Indian National Congress's Vashrambhai Alabhai Sagathiya by a margin of just 2,179 votes.
95.5% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Lakhabhai Sagathiya got a total of 92,114 votes, while Indian National Congress's Vashrambhai Alabhai Sagathiya got 89,935 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Kiranbhai Dhanjibhai Makwana grabbed 3,323 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 48.3%, 47.2% and 1.7% respectively.
In Gujarat Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Bhanuben Manoharbhai Babariya outperformed Indian National Congress's Sagathiya Lakhabhai Jethabhai by 11,466 votes.
