In 2017, 9 candidates were competing for Asarwa assembly constituency seat. Asarwa was one of 99 seats won by the Bharatiya Janata Party. It was a one way contest with Bharatiya Janata Party's Parmar Pradipbhai Khanabhai comfortably winning the election defeating Indian National Congress's Vaghela Kanubhai Atmaram by a huge margin of 49,264 votes.
95.9% of the total votes were casted to top two candidates. Bharatiya Janata Party's Parmar Pradipbhai Khanabhai got a total of 87,238 votes, while Indian National Congress's Vaghela Kanubhai Atmaram got 37,974 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party's candidate Karsanbhai Danabhai Parmar (K.D. PARMAR) grabbed 2,790 votes to finish at the third place. The top three parties secured 66.8%, 29.1% and 2.1% respectively.
In Gujarat Assembly election 2012, Bharatiya Janata Party's Rajanikant Mohanlal Patel (R.M.PATEL) beat Indian National Congress's Surajkar Mangalbhai Hirabhai (MANGAL SURAJKAR) by 35,045 votes.
