Delhi-based nail artist is offering demonetisation-inspired nail art. And an art consultant is using the old currency in his drawings.

Demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes seems to be creative minds’ favourite subject — first came the memes and trolls, then jokes on Whatsapp and now, singers and artists are making the most of the situation.

We’re talking about Baba Sehgal rapping to kala kala kala kala…black money in his song titled, Black Money, and even Bhojpuri songs like ‘Bada re sunar lage doo hazaar ke notwaa (The Rs 2,000 note is so beautiful)’ and ‘Jug Jug Jiya Modiji’ that are making waves on the internet. Not just that, a fashion show held in Delhi last week saw the old Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes making it to models’ outfits, and a Delhi-based nail artist is offering demonetisation-inspired nail art.

Watch Baba Sehgal’s song, Black Money:

Some other note-able artworks are also doing the rounds on the internet, like that by Rajkamal Aich. The Delhi-based art consultant showcases his work — using old currency in his drawings (check out the hat and the dog artwork) — on his Instagram page. “I was left with Rs 500 notes. I thought what to do with them... so, I came up with some quirky artwork,” he says.
