The festival falls on Sunday and rakhis are undoubtedly the most important 'token of love' that girls like to gift to their brothers and rakhis with PM’s photos and caricatures are certainly the 'bestsellers' in Bhopal.
"The 'Modi-leher' has been swaying India since months. The markets too are in tune with the trend. Gone are the days when people used to buy whatever they used to find in the markets. Buyers now keep a watch on trends, research markets and ask questions before buying anything," said Mahesh Rathi, a rakhi stall owner at New Market. "Many of them have seen such rakhis in other cities and demand similar ones here in Bhopal. We have to cater to their wants," he added.

"I saw a Modi rakhi on a news channel and searched for it online. I easily found it on a shopping website and ordered it immediately. I hope it will be delivered today. I haven't told my BJP supporter brother about this. It's a surprise for him," shared Raksha Tiwari, a management graduate.
Social media too is abuzz with Modi rakhis that have hit markets in Mumbai, Jaipur, Cuttack and Delhi. Everywhere, orders are coming in bulk. Some of these wrist bands have the PM’s picture on them and others come with mini plastic figures of Modi pasted in colourful, animated designs.
