The daughter of veteran actor Tanuja, Kajol made her film debut in 1994 with Bekhudi. The film failed to do well at the box office but paved a way for her to move on to bigger roles and better movies.

In 1995, Kajol signed her first movie with Shah Rukh Khan, Abbas Mustan’s Baazigar. The film, in which Kajol played a girl who falls in love with a murderer, did stellar business at the ticket counters. She worked with SRK again in Karan Arjun and the brilliant and iconic, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.

She won several awards for her performances in Dushman, DDLJ, Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham and My Name Is Khan. She made her characters from these movies iconic with her quirkiness and high energy.

In 1999, she married Ajay Devgn and continued to work in films, however, choosing her projects more carefully than before. In 2003, she welcomed her daughter Nysa and in 2010, she gave birth to her son, Yug.
