Kapil Sharma shines at BO, KKPK earns Rs 28.8 cr over weekend

Made on an estimated budget of Rs 20 crore, the film has already managed to earn back the production cost.

Despite being panned by critics for being regressive, Kapil Sharma has managed to work his charm on the audience with his debut Bollywood film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon.

The film, that also marks director duo Abbas-Mustan’s first venture in romantic-comedy, earned Rs 28.81 crore over the first weekend, setting the cash registers ringing.

Made on an estimated budget of Rs 20 crore, the film has already managed to earn back the production cost. It might also make good enter profits by the end of this week.

The romantic comedy also stars Arbaaz Khan, Elli Evram, Supriya Pathak, Varun Sharma, Manjari Phadnis, Simran Kaur Mundi and Sai Lokur.

After a grand opening with a whopping Rs 10.15 crore on day one, the film earned Rs 8.6 crore on Saturday and Rs 9.81 crore on Sunday.

“Kapil’s mass hysteria has certainly created soaring high numbers at the box office. It is a boost for an actor who makes his onscreen debut,” said the spokesperson of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, which released on September 25.
