Do you think you have been explored well as an actor?

I think my talent is underexplored. All my roles are proof of that. While there have been slight variations, there needs to be more variety in the roles that come my way.

What do you fear as an actor?

This business has consumed my life. I haven’t been able to explore life the way I would want to. I want to visit different places. We (people in the film industry) live in a cocoon. We need to come out of it. Professionally, I fear that if I don’t grow in my personal life, it will reflect in my performances in films too.

You were 18 when you did your first TV show. Do you think things would have been different had you started out a little later?

Yes, I would probably have dealt with things differently. I would have probably made different choices.

Do you feel more mature than others of your age?

Of course, I think my maturity and depth shows in my performances. Starting out at an early age and dealing with things by myself helped me grow. But, in this profession, everything is uncertain.

There’s a perception that most friendships in this industry are motive driven…

To be honest, nobody in this industry is your friend, but you can be friendly with everybody. I share a great rapport with a lot of people. But it’s not the kind of friendship that I have with my school friends. Here, the equations keep changing.
