Remember Mrs. Maanyata Dutt sizzling the screen in a saucy item song in Prakash Jha’s Gangaajal in 2003. Buzz is that husband Sanjay Dutt is embarassed by it and wants Jha to snip it off immediately, Mumbai Mirror reported.
At that time Maanyata was an aspiring actress and known as Dilnawaz Shaikh.
A blushing mother to be, Maanyata's image has undergone a makeover since she married Sanju Baba. Now Jha's Gangaajal, which has come up in the most unexpected way, threatens to undo that or so Sanjay feels.
Post the success of Jha's Raajneeti, Gangajal is now being technically revamped to cater to a newer market. Obviously that will also lead to resurfacing of Maanyata's Alhad mast jawani number. Dutt, friends and family have urged the producers to delete the song.
But Jha is in no mood to comply. He told Mumbai Mirror,“It’s true we are re-doing the sound and visuals of Gangaajal, along with my other films Damul, Mrityudand and Apaharan. We’re doing the colour-correction and converting the sound to high-digital quality for blue-ray videos. We aren’t deleting anything from Gangaajal or any of the films being restored.”
