The debate about who is a better actor, Alia Bhatt or Shraddha Kapoor, is ongoing. But when pitted against each other for their singing capabilities, the odds seem to be in Kapoor’s favour.
Both the actors made their singing debut last year and were appreciated for the same. Sharaddha was nominated for the song Galliyan (Ek Villain; 2014), and Alia for Samjhawan (Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania; 2014).But it turns out, that at a recently held music awards show; it was Shraddha who walked away with the trophy.
An insider reveals, "Shraddha and Alia have always been in the same consideration set. They’ve been in contention for more or less the same films and even brands. This time around, too, both the actors were nominated for their singing at a music awards event."
The source adds that when the award was announced and Shraddha’s name was taken, she was elated as it was her first formal recognition for singing.
Interestingly, Shraddha comes from a musical family and has even briefly been trained as a singer. The source says, "Getting an award for singing is a big deal for her as she has always wanted to sing, apart from acting. So, this award has also given her a push and motivation to do better in that field."
