Sidharth is so gorgeous, I can get lost in his eyes: Alia Bhatt

Actors Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Fawad Khan sang, danced and indulged their fans, when they visited Hindustan Times to promote their upcoming film as part of HT City Stars in the City

Actors Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Fawad Khan — the starcast of the soon-to-release film, Kapoor and Sons — visited Hindustan Times on Tuesday for the HT City Stars in the City interaction to promote their film. They not only sang, danced and indulged their fans, but in a freewheeling conversation with Sonal Kalra, National Editor - Entertainment & Lifestyle, Hindustan Times, Alia confessed that when sharing screen space with her rumoured beau Sidharth, she finds it difficult to focus on work because she gets mesmerised and distracted by his good looks.

A fan asked Alia to share the good and bad of working with Sidharth, and said, “I am very comfortable with Sid, which is the best thing about working with him. The bad thing will be that he is so gorgeous that I can easily get lost in his eyes. So, he is a big distraction for me.” Alia’s revelation of her fondness for her Student of the Year (2012) co-star didn’t end there. Answering another HT City Stars in the City winner’s question about what she’d miss the most after the film’s release, Alia said, “We’ll miss each other!” Of course, the response generated quite a few ‘awwws’ in the room.

Talking about the film, Delhi boy Sidharth said that just like him, he hopes that everyone relates to the Shakun Batra directorial. “Whatever Shakun has used in the film is all from his family or a similar family from which I come -- middle-class and relatable.I guess the challenge here was not to make it fake. He wanted to keep it real,” said the 31-year-old actor. The film also stars veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, who has gone on record saying that he and Shakun would often argue, as the two had creative differences. Fawad, however, dubbed these ‘differences’ as ‘cute’, saying, “With seniority and experience comes a certain amount of right to argue as well. I find it almost endearing and cute. It would have been a problem if work did not get done. But eventually, we would get the work done and we would even laugh about it.”

Alia shared another interesting anecdote about the film. She said that her mentor in the film industry, filmmaker Karan Johar, didn’t want her to be part of this project. “Ayesha (Ayesha Devitre Dhillon), the co-writer of the film, she does my hair also..she told me about the script. Shakun was apprehensive in coming to me and Karan thought that they should not give me the script. The reason was that it doesn’t revolve around the girl; it revolves around the family, so one would wonder why I would take it up. But I said let the script come to me. I was blown away by the unique story that it didn’t matter how big my part was in it,” shared Alia, daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt.
