Sonakshi-Ranveer starrer Lootera set in Bengal

Upcoming film is based on a Bengali short story, director Vikramaditya Motwane was ready with the script before he made Udaan. The director rubbishes media reports suggesting that after a small-budget Udaan, this Ranveer Singh-Sonakshi Sinha-starring period love story has a whopping Rs 50 crore budget.

Director Vikramaditya Motwane, who created a rage with his debut film Udaan (2010), reveals that his forthcoming project, Lootera is based on a Bengali short story and it's the first script he's ever worked on. "I've wanted to make it since a long time. This script was ready since Udaan. In between, Udaan came and I didn't get time to think about it, so I'm starting it now," says Motwane.

He, however, prefers to keep the name of the story and its author under wraps. "It's against the backdrop of Bengal in the '50s," he says.

I can make three films in that amount of money," says Motwane, adding, "Of course, I had to scale up the budget, as it's a periodic film. It's big, but not that big."

Apparently, the director seems to be retaining a local touch in the film's music too, but remains tightlipped about it. "The music has to have the feel of that time. You will see…" says Motwane.
