Actor Sumeet Vyas, who featured in the popular web series Permanent Roommates and Tripling, will soon be seen romancing actor Kareena Kapoor Khan in the upcoming film Veere Di Wedding. He reveals what it was like when he realised that he had been paired with actor Kareena Kapoor Khan. The film also stars Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker, and Shikha Talsania.

“I was slightly intimidated by the fact that I am paired with Kareena. She is such a big star in Bollywood, and has so many fans. It was a bit intimidating to see six bodyguards around her every time we were shooting,” laughs Sumeet.

It was Kareena’s friendly behaviour that made him comfortable. “To give credit where it’s due, I must share that there were absolutely no starry tantrums from [Kareena]. She is such a big star but she was a thorough professional throughout the shoot, and I had a really great time shooting with her,” adds the actor.

As talks veer to the kind of roles that interest Sumeet, he says that it’s very important for him to avoid characters that he has already played before. The actor, who played a character named Salman Khan, a classmate of Shashi Godbole (the name of the character played by Sridevi) in the film English Vinglish (2012), shares that he wants to try something different. “I have turned down a lot of scripts, though I know I’m not in a position to reject many offers, because things might end up getting scary,” says Sumeet. “But I feel it’s important for me to do that, to avoid getting stereotyped. I am tired of playing the nice guy, the lover boy. I want to play an a**hole. I want to shave off my head, put paint and tattoos all over my body. I want to do all kinds of roles,” he adds.
