Tamasha quick take: Ranbir and Deepika are back with romance

Will they be able to recreate the magic of Ye Jawaani Hai Deewani?

The hit Bollywood jodi of Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor is back in theatres with Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha on Friday. Needless to say, the expectations of the audience are high with the movie and its two stars.

With a big names like Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Imitiaz Ali, Tamasha is sure carrying a lot of expectations.

This is Imtiaz’s second film with both Ranbir and Deepika. He made Rocktar with Ranbir in 2011 and Love Aaj Kal with Deepika in 2009.

Once a real-life couple, Ranbir and Deepika have been cheered as a popular onscreen jodi by their fans. While the promotional videos and songs of Tamasha repeatedly reminded us of their 2013 hit film, Ye Jawaani Hai Deewani, it remains to be seen whether Tamasha will be able to create the same magic.

This will be Deepika and Ranbir’s third film together after Bachna Ae Haseeno and Ye Jawaani Hai Deewani.

Known for highlighting the darker side of romantic stories, Imtiaz Ali’s last outing, Highway with Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda, was a hit with critics as well as the audiences.
