Not many saw director Anup Singh’s Qissa (2015) in India, but those who did, were completely floored by his magical realism. It’s a film that established Irrfan Khan as a world-class actor. Unconventional storytelling made it one of the finest films made that year.

Now, the duo is returning with another film titled The Song Of The Scorpions. The first look of the film is out and it looks as intense as Qissa.
The poster shows Irrfan Khan and Iranian actor Golshifteh Farahani, and melancholy is written all over it. As per media reports, Irrfan is playing a cattle trader in the film that’s set in rural Rajasthan. But more than Irrfan, it’s Farahani’s face that seems to be longing for something.
Her silhouette also enhances the gloomy mood. On the other hand, Irrfan’s face appears hopeful. However, it’s not easy to point out if it’s blazing hope or hope with a tinge of uncertainty.
The crew of the film, shot in the interiors of Rajasthan, is gearing up for a world premiere at Locarno Film Festival in August, 2017.
The film’s, which also has Waheeda Rehman in a pivotal role, India release date hasn’t been announced yet.
