Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. has upgraded its Punch micro-SUV for the first time since the model debuted in 2021, with sharper styling, streamlined variants and, most importantly, a turbo-petrol engine.

2026 Tata Punch — Prices and Variants
Tata Motors has priced the new Punch aggressively, keeping the starting price identical to that of the outgoing model despite the upgrades.
The 2026 Tata Punch SUV is available in six variants—namely Smart, Pure, Pure+, Adventure, Accomplished and Accomplished + S—with starting prices ranging from ₹5.59-8.99 lakh. It rivals the Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Hyundai Exter, as well as the Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite, in its segment.

- The turbo-petrol variants are available on the Adventure trim at ₹8.29 lakh and the Accomplished +S trim at ₹9.99 lakh, ex-showroom Mumbai.

2026 Tata Punch — New features & technology
The new Punch, once again, borrows several features and technology from the bigger brother Nexon and electric cousin Punch EV.
The interiors: Tata Motors PV has chosen to give the Punch a larger 10.25-inch touchcreen on top variants, as well as an instrument cluster and two-spoke steering wheel from the Nexon.
- AC controls are touch-sensitive, instead of tactile buttons (not good)
- Higher trims —Pure + and Adventure—get sunroof (cosmetic fix)
- Wireless smartphone charger, Type-C charger, front armrest
The safety features: Tata Motors PV—which made safety a unique selling proposition for its cars—is doubling down with the Punch.
- Six airbags are now standard across all variants.
- ABS, ESC, TPMS, are now standard across all variants.
- The Punch also gets first-in-segment 360-degree camera.
The exteriors: The front of the 2026 Tata Punch is inspired by the Punch EV with a slimmer grille, new LED DRLs, and updated LED headlamps. The rear gets connected LED tailights.
- The car is suspended on independent, MacPherson Strut with coil spring at the front and gets semi-independent, twist beam coil spring and shockers at the rear. The suspension—likely to be on the stiffer side—is tuned for rough roads and highway stability.
- Braking duties are handled by front discs and rear drums. And while the lower trims (Smart, Pure, Adventure) get 15-inch steel wheels, the higher trims (Accomplished, Accomplished + S) get 16-inch diamond-cut alloys.
The Punch “democratised the SUV experience in India”, Tata Motors PV CEO Shailesh Chandra said in a statement on Tuesday. “This evolution reflects our passion for continuous innovation towards enhancing customer delight.”
On Tuesday, Tata Motors PV shares fell 0.67% to ₹349.45 apiece on the BSE even as the benchmark Sensex ended the day 0.30% lower at 83,627.69 points.
