Bharti Airtel among top 3: BusinessWeek

The telecom major is ranked third in 'The Infotech 100' list of IT firms on the basis of returns to shareholders, compiled by BusinessWeek.

Telecom service provider Bharti Airtel has been ranked third in 'The Infotech 100' list of IT companies, positioned on the basis of returns to shareholders, compiled by BusinessWeek.

In the overall top 20 list, Bharti Airtel at No 14 is the only Indian company and is ahead of Accenture (16), Nokia (17), Google (19) and Cisco (20), the Indian telecom major said in a statement in New Delhi.

Other companies featured in the list include Apple at No 7 and Amazon at No 8, it said.

The BusinessWeek IT 100 list is an annual ranking of the best performing technology companies across the globe. The companies featured in it were selected from 28,000 listed companies worldwide.

"This recognition is a testimony to the shareholders' value created by the company. It also reinforces our relentless pursuit to create a world class organisation by providing the best in class products and services," Manoj Kohli, President and CEO, Bharti Airtel said.
