Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India has announced a recall for two of its premium motorcycles sold through the BigWing network in the country. The recall involves the Honda CBR650R and the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP, with each model affected by a different technical concern. The company has begun reaching out to customers directly and has also enabled VIN-based verification so owners can check whether their motorcycle is part of the recall.
Starting with the CBR650R, Honda has identified an issue related to the turn indicator wiring on certain units. These motorcycles were manufactured from 16 December 2024 to 04 May 2025. In some cases, the indicator harness may come in contact with surrounding metal parts. Over-extended usage, this contact could lead to wear on the wiring insulation. If left unchecked, it may result in a short circuit, potentially causing the indicators to stop functioning. Since turn indicators are a mandatory safety component, Honda has decided to proactively recall the affected motorcycles and rectify the issue.
For owners of the CB1000 Hornet SP, the recall addresses a separate mechanical concern. Certain motorcycles produced between 30 September 2024 and 22 August 2025 have been found to exhibit higher-than-normal engine oil consumption. This condition can be linked to internal engine components that may not perform as intended over time. While the motorcycle may continue to run, excessive oil consumption can lead to reduced lubrication if oil levels are not monitored closely, which could eventually affect engine durability and performance.

Honda has also stated that customers will be informed directly through official communication channels, ensuring a smooth and transparent recall process.
