Mahindra and Mahindra is working on a slew of new vehicles. Back in 2023, the brand showcased the Global Pik Up Concept, which is essentially a pick-up truck version of the Scorpio N. The brand has been testing the new pick-up truck on the Indian roads, and it was recently spotted.

The truck was not equipped with production-spec lights in the front and at the rear; it was using the previous Scorpio's taillight units. However, we do notice the shark-fin antenna, tailgate and a new grille that seems all-new. The bed of the truck was also filled with drums.

Two versions available

Since the new pick-up truck is derived from the Scorpio N, both models will share several components. Its front-end design may feature the recognisable LED projector headlamps, a striking front grille adorned with the new 'Twin Peaks' Mahindra emblem, and a prominent, flat hood. These design features are anticipated to impart a rugged yet contemporary look to the pick-up.

The front-end design on the pick-up truck looks identical to the Scorpio N.

The distinction between the two cab styles is apparent in the wheel selections. The single-cab variant has retained the alloy wheels from the Scorpio N, while the double-cab version is equipped with basic steel wheels. Both models come with a roll bar that extends above the cabin roofline, a feature likely included for enhanced structural safety during rollovers. At the rear, the production test units seem to be fitted with halogen taillights, which appear to replace the LED units that were showcased in the original concept. These halogen lights are similar to those found on the older Scorpio Getaway.

The concept version revealed earlier boasted an impressive array of modern technologies, including Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), 5G connectivity, trailer sway control, multiple airbags, driver fatigue detection, and Mahindra’s 4Xplore four-wheel-drive system. It remains to be seen how many of these features will be incorporated into the final production model.

From a mechanical standpoint, the forthcoming pick-up is anticipated to share its powertrain with current Mahindra SUVs. This likely includes a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel engine.
