According to Tesla, a Model Y owner can save about 20,000 per month on fuel and routine maintenance compared with petrol and diesel cars, based on 1,500 km of average monthly use. Using that estimate, Tesla says the effective monthly cost would be about 29,000. The company adds that actual savings will vary with local electricity tariffs, driving habits and maintenance requirements.
