Tandon was booked on Tuesday under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 354A (sexual harassment and punishment for sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Sector 39 police station on the
complaint of an 18-year-old radio jockey.

He was produced before a court on Wednesday and sent to judicial custody. Soon after, his advocate moved an application seeking bail for Tandon. The court would be hearing the bail plea on Thursday, when the UT police are expected to file a reply.

The police said the Himachal Pradesh-based complainant had alleged that Tandon tried to outrage her modesty several times. When she objected, Tandon told her that if she wanted to get proper training and promotion at the radio station, she was supposed to "bear such things".

Mamik said the school administration was "leaving" the case "to law of the land".

Claiming to be falsely implicated, Tandon said the girl had approached them for the post of a trainee radio jockey, but failed to clear the interview. So, Tandon reportedly had recommended to the school authorities that she be enrolled as an intern, which, sources said, might have offended the victim.
