The North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala, under the aegis of Union ministry of culture kickstarted its three-day art exhibition in collaboration with the ‘De Novo’ group at their Art gallery at the NZCC Kalagram complex here on Monday.
As many as 11 art virtuosos put up 85 art works in their second edition of De Novo group exhibition, showcasing a panoramic scene with diverse representation of all genres of visual art including 20 paintings in acrylic, 40 graphics, seven drawing sketches and photographic spectacles and 11 sculptures.
The themes ranged from human relationships, colours of life, social evils, male chauvinism and gender disparity, woman empowerment to patriotism and terrorism, among others.
The artists, all from Kurukshetra University, included Kunal Soni, Arvind Sharma, Amit Kumar, Rupesh Bhatia, Sudeep Verma, Shashi Kumar, Neeraj Jangra, Naresh Kumar, Ramit Redhu, Raju Kumar and Monika Rani.
Earlier Yashwinder Sharma, senior programme officer, North Zone Cultural Centre, welcomed the eminent painting maestro Jodh Singh, who inaugurated the exhibition.
While lauding the efforts of NZCC director Rajinder Singh Gill for renovating and commissioning the abandoned art gallery, he called upon the participating artists to create sociocultural awakening though their works in all mediums of expression.
