Punjab Sangeet Natak Akademi and The Manchan Arts Research Centre organised a dramatic recital of Punjabi play ‘Mungu Comrade’ at Punjab Kala Bhawan on Sunday.
Playwright director Atamjit and Sangeeta Gupta brought alive a saga of patriotism and sacrifice by Sardar Makhan Singh, popularly known as Mungu comrade, chronicling events of the Indian freedom struggle.

The play is an outcome of the vast research carried out by academician and thespian Atamjit during his visits to Kenya and other parts of South Africa. The dramatic rendition made the audience wonder at the heroic contributions of thunsung hero Mungu Comrade. The play has been staged in other cities of Punjab, on popular demand.
