Ludhiana: Three UP residents held for drug peddling, 57K banned pills seized

They were arrested while trying to smuggle the consignment to Jalandhar

Three Uttar Pradesh residents were arrested with 57,700 banned tablets on Friday.

The accused are Arshad, Mohammad Imran and Farman, of Meerut. Khanna senior superintendent of police (SSP) Gursharandeep Singh Grewal said the accused were arrested at a checkpoint at the national highway near Doraha. Imran, who owns a chemist’s shop in Uttar Pradesh, said they were trying to smuggle the consignment to Jalandhar.

A case was lodged against the accused under different sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
