Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has approved allocation of Rs 69.92 lakh for executing six flood-control projects in the district.

Panchkula deputy commissioner Vivek Atray made this announcement during a meeting with non-government members of the district public relations and grievances redressal committee at the mini-secretariat on Monday.

Giving details of the measures taken by the local administration, Vivek Atray said a 256-foot block had been constructed on the Ghaggar river tributary Raypurwali at a cost of Rs 13.32 lakh. A block measuring 3.12 feet had been constructed for Rs 4.15 lakh on the tributary Sukhna Chowki and a 200-foot block had been constructed for an amount of Rs 3.75 lakh near Moginand village, he said.

"The construction of a block on the Tangri river in Rattewali village, at a cost of Rs 24.39 lakh, is in progress,"said the DC.
