The Election Commission (EC) will organise special camps on March 16 at all polling stations in Punjab to help left-out eligible voters register themselves.

The EC had conducted a similar campaign across the state on March 9.

A spokesman for the office of the chief electoral officer (CEO) said all deputy commissioners-cum-district election officers had been directed in this regard. The DCs have been asked that the forms received during the March 9 special camps should be disposed of and voters enrolled in the electoral rolls.

42,855 arms deposited
As many as 42,855 licensed arms have been deposited till date in the state. The spokesman stated that out of total of 3,604 non-bailable warrants 2,150 had been executed.

Besides, 320 persons have been identified as probable source of trouble in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections. He stated that till date, 1,899 police nakas had been laid at various places.
